Bio:

I am a performer, songwriter and guitar instructor, living in Northeast Minneapolis. Along with performing as a soloist, I am a member of two different groups; Step Rockets  http://www.steprockets.com and Soul Tree http://www.soultreeband.com.  Step Rockets is an original indie rock band, and Soul Tree is a variety band, both based in Minneapolis.  I play over 150 shows a year in bars, clubs, weddings and private events.

My interest in the guitar brought me to Perpich Center for the Arts music program, McPhail music program, and McNally Smith Music College.  My musical focus varies from Rock, Blues, Country, Classical and Jazz.  My passion also lies in being a singer/songwriter.  

Teaching Philosophy:

I love playing the guitar and my goal as an instructor is to bring that same love for the instrument out in my students. When a student is able to sit down and enjoy the sounds they are creating, the magic of music is expierenced.  I employ the use of logical shapes and patterns while teaching.  This efficiently builds muscle memory, which allows the student to easily transfer the work we do in our lesson to a lifetime of playing songs.  We also explore why students’ favorite songs sound the way they do, through applied music theory.  Whether you are new to the guitar or have been playing for some time, the implementation of lessons will enrich your playing for years.
