Performance experience is vital to the singer at any point in their development. It is always a wonderful challenge and an important part of the joy of the work to prepare material, technique, expression and attitudes for a performance event. Each performance finds the singer at a heightened level of growth and accomplishment. As well, as singing is primarily a performance art, performance must be a natural aspect of our experience. Chanson Voice Studios produces two professional concerts a year for its students, taking advantage of the many extraordinary singing spaces available in the Twin Cities such as old stone churches, theaters, concert halls, outdoor gardens and nightclubs. Concerts are designed with themes or genres, giving the student the opportunity to explore the diversity of music from many eras and styles, enhancing and broadening the singer’s technique, style, knowledge and appreciation of many different musical and singing forms. For each concert, students write their own program notes for the concert programs, having researched their songs and their composers for a deeper understanding of their pieces Chanson Voice Studio Concerts are professionally produced using the best musical and technical talent available in the Twin Cities. They are audio and video taped and CD’s and DVD’s are made available for students and their family and friends for posterity and further learning for students.
